If you didn’t know, Red Nose Day evolved from the Comic Relief which was founded by Lenny Henry and Richard Curtis in mid 1980s. It was in response to a famine in Africa, and specifically in Ethiopia. Red Nose Day was officially launched in 1988. For a couple of years after its launch, the day remained a British thing. Today, the day is celebrated almost everywhere in the world. The theme of the day is ‘A Just World Free from Poverty’

Red Nose Day is held every two years. The 2015 Red Nose Day will happen in March 13th and will see people across the world come together to make funny for money. Most celebrations will be expected to take place at home, work, school and entertainment joints. For example, the BBC will have a fantastic night characterized by pure comedy entertainment. Top comedians like Jack Dee, Johnny Vegas, Vic Reeves, Patrick Kielty and Nick Helm will perform in the event. The event is designed to inspire people to give generously for the less privileged in the society.
